- Solid state physics experiment
- Aim :
- was to make crystals
- Materials:
- 1 cup of water, 3 cups of sugar/salt, a teaspoon, a saucepan, food coloring, a clean jar, a piece of cotton string, a pencil, a paper clip, tin foil.
- Procedure:
Boil the water. Slowly stir the sugar into the water, until the sugar is dissolved. Put the food coloring into the water and pour into the jar. Tie the string onto the pencil and tie the paper clip to the other end of the string. Put the pencil across the top of the jar. Put the jar in a safe place and cover it with tin foil.
Observation :
We watched the crystals form on the string for two weeks. My jar formed crystals first as it was made with sugar.
Conclusion:
It was fun making crystals. Our experiment was a success because crystals formed on my string.
Wow Uli! I really want to try what you have experimented. I did not know that is possible, well thanks to you I know now. Keep up the good work Uli!
